Jamie B was in a soloing mood again yesterday and took a drive north to check out Resurrection on Sgurr Mor Fannaich. This 300m grade III takes a direct line up a big alpine face, with lots of exposure but reasonable climbing. The névé was rock-hard and Jamie's calf muscles got a full work-out! The highlight of the day was pulling out into the sunshine by the summit cairn of the highest point in the Highlands - views were extensive.
The route would be a challenging lead, as belays and protection are in short supply. But the quality of the ice and névé suggests that there will be lots of similarly good options throughout the Highlands right now - get on it!
